Create a PDF handout from an HTML presentation
After a talk, attendees often want to take the slides with them. Turning an HTML presentation into a clean PDF is tedious in a browser. With presenthtml it’s one step.
Why printing from the browser falls short
Print an HTML presentation from the browser and you often get only the current slide, or the layout falls apart. Many decks aren’t built for print, and notes are missing entirely.
Creating the handout in presenthtml
- Open the presentation in presenthtml and wait until the thumbnails are ready.
- Choose PDF Handout in the toolbar or press ⌘E.
- Choose the options in the save dialog and save. The PDF opens automatically.
With or without notes
- With speaker notes: slide on the left, notes on the right, about four slides per page. Slides without notes get lines for writing – handy for workshops.
- Without notes: two large slides per page, good for handing out to your audience.
The first page shows the presentation title, the number of slides and the date.
Build steps
If a slide has builds, the handout shows only the fully built slide by default. With the option “Each build step as a separate slide”, every intermediate step appears separately, for example for training material.
